Pakistan vs England T20 Series- WHO WILL WIN?

England Cricket Team finally arrived in Pakistan after a gap of 17 years. Both sides will go head to head in the first T20I on the 20th of August, 2022. Pakistan vs England series holds a great value as T20 WC 2022 is around the corner.

How do both the teams stack up, and who’s more likely to claim the trophy? Let’s discover.

England’s Strengths and Weaknesses

The English team will be playing with a near full-strength team against Pakistan. Jason Roy has been dropped due to his poor form. Whereas Stokes has been given rest after the test series.

Moreover, Johnny Baristow is out due to an injury. The skipper Jos Butler will also not participate in most of the games.

Is that going to dent their batting lineup? Well, certainly not. The English team is enjoying an era of rich batting talent. They have got plenty of batting talent in their ranks, and batting will continue to be their strength. The addition of Alex Hales has further strengthened their batting lineup.

Furthermore, their spin bowling looks settled with the Mo-Rash duo. Livingstone can also rotate his arm for a few overs. Whereas pace bowling is probably the weaker link in their lineup. Topley is in good nick, Woakes is back, and Wood is there. But, still, the attack doesn’t look too threatening.

Likely XI

  1. Alex Hales
  2. Phill Salt (wk)
  3. David Malan
  4. Will Jacks
  5. Harry Brooks
  6. Moeen Ali (c)
  7. Sam Curran
  8. Chris Woakes
  9. Adil Rashid
  10. Mark Wood
  11. Reece Topley

Pakistan’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Pakistan has called in-form Shan Masood to rescue their batting lineup. But, their middle order still looks vulnerable. Rizwan will get some rest, so a lot of responsibility will fall on Babar. His poor form is another area of concern for Pakistan.

Their strength is in their bowling lineup. The red hot pace trio of Naseem, Hasnain, and Rauf can be too hot to handle for any batting. Shadab and Nawaz have been phenomenal with the ball, so the spin attack looks great too.

However, they just can’t rely on bowling all the time. It’s time for batters to support their bowlers.

Likely XI

  1. Babar Azam (c)
  2. Haider Ali
  3. Shan Masood
  4. Aamir Jamal (wk)
  5. Iftikhar Ahmed
  6. Shadab Khan
  7. Asif Ali
  8. M. Nawaz
  9. Haris Rauf
  10. Naseem Shah
  11. M. Hasnain
