Pakistan’s Likely XI Against India

Will Hassan Ali find his way back? Are Dahani and Naseem going to make their debuts against India? What About Haider and Usman? Where will Shadab bat? Lots and lots of questions are surrounding the minds of Pakistani fans about team selection.

But, don’t bang your head anymore as we are here to answer them for you. We will discuss about Pakistan’s:

  • Top Order
  • Middle Order
  • Bowling Lineup

Let’s start.

Top Order

Babar and Rizwan are all set to open the innings. These two are the backbone of Pakistan’s T20 team and there’s no need to stir with their position.

But, who will bat at 3? Will it be Fakhar Zaman or Haider Ali? Although, Haider Ali is a top-order batsman, he won’t find a place in the top 3 as Fakhar will stay at his position.

So, the top order will look like this:

  • Babar Azam
  • Muhammad Rizwan
  • Fakhar Zaman

Middle Order

There are a lot of options here; Haider, Iftikhar, Khushdil, Shadab, and Asif. It looks like that Iftikhar will miss out and Haider will bat at #4.

Recently in a press conference, the skipper Babar Azam said that it’s the right time to use the batting form of Shadab Khan. So, the all-rounder is expected to come in at #5 with Khushdil and Asif Ali to follow him at #6 and #7 respectively.

Hence, the middle order will comprise of:

  • Haider Ali
  • Shadab Khan
  • Khushdil Shah
  • Asif Ali

Bowling Lineup

Pakistan will likely go ahead with only 2 spinners so Usman Qadir will miss out. Nawaz is certain to play and come in at #8. But, who will be the 3 pacers?

There are 5 options; Naseem, Haris, Dahani, Hasnain, and Hassan. Hassan Ali reached Dubai just a few hours before the match. So, he will probably be rested. Naseem and Rauf are certain to start with. So, there’s just one place and 2 contenders; Dahani and Hasnain.

Hasnain is more experienced and reliable in this format but has just remodeled his action recently. Whereas, Dahani is highly inexperienced. The way Hasnain has impressed in the hundred, he might get a go here.

So, the bowling lineup will be:

  • Muhammad Nawaz
  • Muhammad Hasnain
  • Haris Rauf
  • Naseem Shah

Final Playing XI

As per all the odds, this is how the final XI may look like:

  1. Babar Azam
  2. Muhammad Rizwan
  3. Fakhar Zaman
  4. Haider Ali
  5. Shadab Khan
  6. Khushdil Shah
  7. Asif Ali
  8. Muhammad Nawaz
  9. Muhammad Hasnain
  10. Haris Rauf
  11. Naseem Shah
